PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES
Who are your bike rentals for?
Families, tourists, and locals who want to explore Valencia by bike — whether for a day of sightseeing, a beach trip along the coast, or riding the Turia Riverbed together.
Do I need experience riding a cargo bike?
No, but you do need experience riding a bike. We will walk you through handling and balance at pickup. You can have a short practice ride before heading out with kids
How many children can ride along?
Cargo bikes carry a maximum of 2 children, who must use appropriate seats, belts, and helmets. Kids under 18 months need a special seat. Let us know the ages of your children when booking so we can prepare the right bike for your family.
Is there a minimum age to rent?
Yes, renters must be at least 18 years old. A valid government-issued ID is required at pickup.
What's the minimum rental period?
The minimum rental period is 4 hours. There's no maximum — you can rent for as many days as you like, as long as you have a safe place to park the bike overnight.
Is there a deposit?
Yes — a deposit of 10% of the bike's value, held as a credit card pre-authorization. Once the bike is returned and inspected, the funds are released. Holds typically remain on a credit card for up to 7 days, depending on the customer's issuing bank.
How do I book?
You can book online, via WhatsApp, or in person at the shop. We recommend booking in advance, especially during high season.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your start time. Within 24 hours of the start time, or in case of a no-show, bookings are non-refundable. Weather conditions do not qualify for a refund. If VIVELO needs to cancel a confirmed booking for reasons within our control, you'll receive a full refund — unless we can offer a substitute bike of equivalent or greater value.
Can I return the bike early for a partial refund?
No — early returns don't entitle you to a refund of any portion of the rental fee. The full rental period charge applies regardless of when the bike comes back.
What if it rains?
Weather conditions don't qualify for a refund, so check the forecast before booking
What comes with the bike?
Every bike comes with at least one lock, included in the rental price. Electric bikes are provided with a fully charged battery at pickup. Helmets are available to rent at €2 per helmet, per day, for any age.
Is insurance or damage protection included?
An optional Damage Waiver is available from one day of rental onward. If purchased, it reduces your liability for accidental damage — cargo bikes from €4,500 down to €400, city e-bikes from €2,000 down to €350. It doesn't cover theft due to improper locking, lost accessories, battery issues, intentional damage, or negligence.
What if the e-bike battery runs out during our ride?
The battery is guaranteed fully charged at pickup, but battery range depends on rider weight, terrain, and assist level, which are outside our control. If it runs out during your rental, you can return the bike with an empty battery at no charge, or request a charged replacement battery delivered to you for €25.
Where do I pick up the bike?
Carrer de Pere Aleixandre 8, Valencia. Rental Opening hours: Mon-Sun 10:00–18:00 (flexible hours for renting bikes, they are not the same as Shop opening hours).
Can I pick up or return outside opening hours?
Yes, on request, for a non-refundable surcharge of €30.
What if I get a flat tire during my rental?
Contact us immediately. If you're within 5 km (straight-line) of the shop, we'll provide a free replacement bike, subject to availability. Beyond 5 km, we'll come fix it on-site for a callout fee of €40 plus €15 per 10 minutes of travel time.
What happens if the bike breaks down?
Report it immediately — please don't attempt repairs yourself. We'll offer assistance or a replacement at our discretion.
Where do I lock the bike when we stop somewhere?
Always lock it to a fixed object like a bike rack or staple rack — not to trees, benches, or anything movable. This matters: if the bike isn't locked to an approved fixed point and something happens to it, you'd be responsible.
